Mobile Device Management

iPods, iPhones and Android phones can all be managed by third party software solutions. This is called Mobile Device Management or MDM.

The advantage of this is that you can push updates to the devices, prevent other apps from being installed, and remotely manage them. It can significantly help with reliability and preventing issues on site.

We cannot give a recommendation as to which is best etc. We have clients using all the below. Be aware that the offerings all are different. Some have a free tier and other don’t. There may also be other solutions we are not aware of – please let us know if you have a recommendation. We pass these on as a service to our clients.

Be also aware they do require some IT expertise.

Cisco have their own solution called Meraki.

For Apple, a major player is called JAMF.

Another is called CLYD.
