Compliant -vs- Non-Compliant

Understanding Compliant -vs- Non-Compliant Locations

Nexus-WebEye Location Analysis report introduces the concept of “Compliant” and “Non-Compliant” locations. This article will help you understand what this means, in detail, for each sub-report option.

Exactly as it sounds,

  • a “compliant” location meets all your performance goals, whatever they may be. It must meet all criteria.
  • a location is “non compliant” location when it fails any performance criteria.

What complicates this definition is that the Location Analysis report options have more than one way to determine if a location is compliant or not.

Note, this report uses a Time Profile. You should, if you are not familiar with them, review what time profiles do before proceeding. These control how and when the Location Analysis report collects data, and then how it measures it.

Why have compliant and non-compliant locations?

There are 2 reasons;

  1. The “Exception Only” tick box on the report setup form will only show locations that are non-compliant. This can be used to trigger and email – so you are informed when your targets are not met.
  2. To highlight problem areas. Non-compliant locations are where you have problems meeting target. You are shown the location and also what percentage of locations meet your goals and the summary only tick box will show just counts of compliant and non-compliant locations.

How Is It Determined in the reports?

Hit Analysis

This report collects attendances on days and between times that are set in the time profile you select, and each day can have the minimum number of hits (attendances) set. The maximum gap between hits can be set  on the form used to select the report.

For a location to be compliant it must meet both the minimum hits -and- not have a gap greater than the maximum if itis set.

For example, you can specity 10 hits in an 8 hour day. You can specify no more than 1 hour between hits. If either of these is not met (ie if you have 9 hits -and-or- a gap between attendances greater than 1 hour) then the location will be non-compliant. Likewise, the location will only be compliant when both of these conditions are met.

Return Time

This report option uses the time profile to specify when to collect data,  by day, and specifies the minimum Return Time you require each day. If you fail to meet this Return Time, the location is non-compliant.

Similarly, you can specify the maximum gap between attendances.

If any gap between attendances is longer that allowed and/or the return time is longer than specified, the location is marked as non-compliant.

Gap Analysis

Like the other reports, this uses a time profile that specifies by day of the week when to collect data. The Return Time values in the time profile are used to calculate the compliance percentage. However, the end-result performance criteria that must be met are specified on the sceen setup form.

Maximum gap can be specified in the same way as the other reports. Also, the minimum compliance coverage can be specified. If either are not met, the location is marked as non-compliant.

Compliance Coverage is a percentage figure that shows for what percentage of the time a location meets your performance criteria (Return Time). For example, if you must have a 20 minute Return Time requirement, the compliance coverage figure shows the percentage of the time this was met. It is explained here.
