Location Analysis – Hit Analysis

Hit Analysis

This Location Analysis report option is used to check the required number of hits (attendances) over a time range are met. Hit Analysis is a powerful analysis and reporting tool. It can be enabled individually or in combination with other report options.

This option is designed to identify where you don’t meet performance goals you setup. It has been designed for checking many small sites, for checking unsupervised sites, for an in-depth analysis of staff tracking data.

It has options that male it flexible and powerful:

  • Set the number of attendances required by day of the week.
  • Set the maximum gap between attendances.
  • Set the time range when attendances must be met by day of the week.
  • Enable scheduled reporting, daily for example.
  • Exception reporting triggers an email to one or many recipients if your requirements are not met.

For example, how do you know a remote site has been attended at a date and time and that it’s locations have been duly visited? This is how you do it. You will be emailed if there is a problem.

In the time profile you use for this report, enter the number of hits required by day, in two time ranges (primary and secondary). This way you can cater for a split shift.

You can also tick the “combine” tick box so that hits can be totaled for the two time ranges and then the required number can be hit in either time range or any combination.

For example, if you have 3 hits for the primary, and 3 hits for the secondary, if you tick the “combine” tick box then 6 hits in either time range, or any combination totaling 6 will make the location compliant. See “glossary” for compliant / non-compliant terms.

If the “combine” tick box is not ticked, then there must be the required number in both time ranges else it will not be compliant.

Additionally, you can specify the maximum gap between hits so that you can check that staff are not getting all the hits in one small part of time and not spreading them out as they should (see filter time also).

Setup Hit Analysis

You must setup two things; the Time Profile you use, and then the report itself. The time profile is critical – you must enter the start and finish times where you are analyzing the data, and you must enter a performance number. This is the number of hits.

Setting Up the Report:

  • Select Location Analysis Report.
  • Select the Time Profile to use.
  • Select any filtering of locations.
  • Select the date range you want to run the report over. Use “Current Day” for scheduled reports.
  • Tick the “Hit Analysis” check box on the right hand side of the Location Analysis screen.
  • Enter the maximum allowable gap between attendances. Longer than this will make the location non-compliant.
  • Tick the ‘Exception’ option if you only want to see locastions that don’t meet your criteria.
  • Tick ‘Now’ to run the report and see it on the screen.
  • Tick ‘In The Future’ to run the report at another date and time. You can select to run it once, daily, weekly and monthly.
  • For scheduled reports, select the email recipients from the drop down list. You can send to one or many.

Example : Door Check At A Shopping Center

Problem. You want to know if security staff are checking entrance doors have been locked, after end of day.

Solution. Set the Job Function to Security. Tag locations that are an entrance as “Entrance” and in the report, filter for them so only entrances locations are processed. In the time profile for this report, set the number of attendances you want staff to make. Example “2” into each day of the week and make sure the times are suitable. For example 17:30 to 18:30 on a Monday. Set the filter time to 30 minutes so you only analyze attendances that are at least 30 minute apart (else 2 or more staff walking together will be sufficient for 2 attendances). Then run the report. You can schedule it for daily running, and for exception, and it will email when the conditions are not met.

Example :  Mobile Security Night Checks

Problem. Staff work from 18:00 to 06:00 the next day. They must attend 3 times a night at all locations.

Solution. In the time profile, set the primary times to 18:00 to 24:00 for all days of the week. Set the secondary times for 00:00 to 06:00 for all days of the week. If Saturday and Sunday are different then adjust to suit. Then set the number of hits you want in one of the time sections. “3” in primary for example. Then tick the “Combine” tick box. This will then accept 3 hits before midnight, after midnight, or a mix of them both. Set the filter time to something reasonable. Say “60” so attendances must be further than an hour apart. Then run the report.

Example : Check Remote Site Attendance

Problem. Unsupervised staff must attend remote sites out of hours. Your client demands the work is done. Sometimes staff don’t attend due to a number of issues and they don’t tell you they cannot make it into work. This exposes you to risk of loss of contract.

Solution. Set a time profile for to the start time when staff attend the site and for a short time thereafter. Then select “1” or “2” as the attendances required for all locations. In Hit Analysis, select the center, select the time profile, select ‘current day’ then then tick the ‘Hit Analysis’ option. Tick ‘Exception’ and set the report for ‘In The Future’ and run it daily. Select the email addresses to be sent informatation about when a site is not attended.

Using Scheduled Reports

All WebEye like Location Analysis reports can be scheduled in a similar manner. Select ‘In The Future’ as the option for when the report is run, and a date and time. Then select when it is run. This can be daily, weekly, monthly or a date range.

Location Analysis report has a “Current Date” option so that a scheduled report can be run so that data for “this day” is analyzed. This is the best option to check for staff noit attending on the current day and to know a remote site has not been attended.

For a security company it is able to see what locations were not attended over night. the combine tick box is a key option for this.
