In Depth Data Analysis

Drilling Deeper Into Data

Data analysis with WebEye is a key function – all our users do it. It is central to managing your data and your staff. Your data history will show you trends you can use to optimize and fault find. At any time you can use WebEye to gain valuable information about staffing trends at locations.

Here are some ways that WebEye and its extensive array of reports may help.

Identify Problem Locations

There are a few ways.

Use Filtering. Filtering allows you to look more closely at exactly what is happening and not be swamped by other data you are not interested in. You can select a date, a date range, users, job functions – all easily. You can select one location or all. You can tag locations to focus on a group. You can focus on one job function or one user or all.

A simple way is to use the Location Attendance report. That beautifully shows trends. Look at a few days. Then when you find a location you are unhappy with, use the same report but in one day mode over a date range. Is one day of the week problematic? Is it late start or an early finish or are there big gaps? Is your weekend staff performing well? When are the night patrols happening?

You can answer these and other questions very quickly.

Risk Management Report gives a simple number, the number on average of minutes between attendances. It has issues in not showing gaps which can be problematic, but it does produce a simple number. Use this report over a month to find poor performing areas.

The Location Analysis Report has the best analytic functions, and three different calculation techniques, all in one report. You can setup time profiles with performance criteria to show you which locations are compliant or not. It has industry leading powerful reporting options.

The Center Visits Report produces a lot of data. It is a ‘running list’ of attendances. It is precise and an exact report of what happened, without averaging or any other functions. You can filter by location, date range, user, time of day and job function. You can see precisely what has happened.

What Is The Most Simple Method?

Use the Location Attendance Report. At one glance it shows you everything for one day for the whole of a center.

  • Display all data for all locations for one day
  • Display one location for a date range
  • Show Events (as Triangles) on the report also.

What are the Best Metrics?

Metrics give you an insight, a number, a result that you can use to understand and compare.

Nexus-WebEye has a few metrics – each has its own merit.

Hits – is the number of times a location is visited. For security patrols this is probably one of the best. For cleaning it ignores many factors. If analyzed using a time profile, reports will show the number of hits when you want them. The Location Analysis report can be set with extra options for processing by hits. An extension of this follows;

Wand Hits / AtSite Hits – these are great to show what your wands/users have been up to. You can get a day by day simple number to compare by.

For example, if you have 10 wands on site and your performance is poor. Use a Wand Hits report to show daily total. You may (usually do) find that some wands are  not used, and others are great.

Return Time – also known as Loop Time is a calculation of the number of hits into the number of minutes in a date and time range. It gives a simple average. It is good to compare simple performances with. It says, “on average, you were here every xx” minutes. The only problem with this simple calculation is that it ignores gaps between attendances. The location Analysis Report can be told to trigger a location as non-compliant if gaps are greater than a certain size.

Gap Analysis – is an Elite-ID proprietary report that analyzes your data accorting to powerful time produce performance setups. This is absolutely the best report to put a number on your performance as a percentage. 100% means you perfectly met the performance requirement for all the date range you used.

Basically, this report uses your return time creiteria then looks at the data accumulating time when you did not meet your return time. Then it calculates the result as a percentage. It will hilight gaps and late start/early finish issues.

Benefits

As soon as you take ownership of your data, identify problem areas, track down issues and motivate staff you will;

  • Ideally, remove impediments to getting more and better data,
  • Understand any issues your staff may face. There may be problems you can address to improve their job and hence data,
  • Get better data – more data, more topical data,
  • More and better data means less risk and less ongoing cost.
